DOMESTIC HYDROPONICS

Hydroponics is a process in which the plants develop their root system on flowing water that carries dissolved nutrients with it, this will allow the plant to grow in a perfect balance.

A small submersible pump connected to a timer circulates the water constantly between the tank and the hydroponics pipes on 15 minute brakes so that the plant can have nourishment at all times without rotting the roots.

Each person may germinate its own plants ou buy them from a vivarium / plant shop  with approximately 5cm height, they are fit on the holes made on the hydoponics pipes using net pots directly over the water stream. The water with nutrients should be changed each 15 days since the water is recycled countless times and eventually the nutrients in it get all absorved.

This growth system is known as NFT (Nutrient Film Technique). Its a type of cultivation that stands above the ground level, this means that the system is almost bug free and allows a better hygiene and quality for the plants since we can control the flow of the nutrients and water. This method saves up to 70% more water than the ground cultivation technique at the same time that speeds up the development of each plant and it can be made in your own house, balcony or garden.
